How we test hardware, write technical analyses, and maintain strict independence.
1. 100% Unsponsored Product Reviews
LighterLine does not accept sponsored reviews or paid product placements disguised as objective journalism. When we review laptops, keyboards, microcontrollers, or developer platforms, the gear is purchased with publication funds or borrowed from peer engineers. Manufacturers never receive advance review drafts or copy veto power.
2. Months of Real Use, Not 3-Day Benchmarks
Synthetic benchmark graphs do not tell the whole story. We test consumer hardware and developer tools over weeks and months of real programming, homework, travel, and production workloads. If a laptop keyboard wobbles, a headphone headband creaks, or an API gateway charges surprise fees, we call it out directly.
3. Zero Automated AI Slop
Every article published on LighterLine is written and verified by human engineers. We do not publish automated synthetic summary scrapers or generic AI-generated articles. All writing reflects genuine domain experience and real hardware teardowns.
4. Corrections and Accountability
When factual errors occur, we correct them swiftly and transparently. We document every material correction in our public Corrections Log.
5. Editorial Masthead & Hardware Photography
All engineering evaluations, teardowns, and visual documentation are conducted in-house by Daniel Dano and software studio Ryla Labs (rylalabs.com), with physical hardware bench testing, PCB inspection, and original macro photography co-edited by Jonathan Dano (Co-Editor & Lead Hardware Photographer).
