01 Who runs and writes LighterLine?
▼
Desk: About LighterLine

LighterLine is an independent technology publication by Daniel Dano and software studio Ryla Labs (rylalabs.com), alongside Jonathan Dano (Co-Editor & Lead Hardware Photographer). All articles, bench teardowns, and hardware reviews reflect hands-on testing and direct engineering experience.

02 How does LighterLine differ from other tech publications?
▼
Desk: About LighterLine

We do not run speculative hype, automated synthetic slop, or paid sponsor puff pieces. Every piece is written from a real builder perspective, testing products over months of daily use rather than running quick three-day synthetic benchmarks.

03 Are product reviews sponsored by hardware manufacturers?
▼
Desk: Reviews & Ethics

No. We purchase our own review units or borrow equipment through independent peer networks. We do not accept paid reviews, and hardware manufacturers never get early copy approval or editorial influence.

04 How do you score hardware and software?
▼
Desk: Reviews & Ethics

We evaluate gadgets and developer tools based on practical longevity, repairability, software ergonomics, and cost-to-performance ratio. A product with great hardware but frustrating proprietary software will receive an honest critique.

05 How do I subscribe to new articles?
▼
Desk: Subscriptions & RSS

You can subscribe for free to our weekly Sunday Signal newsletter using any email box on the site, or subscribe via your favorite RSS reader at https://lighterline.com/rss.xml. Our RSS feed is full-text and contains zero ad injections.

06 What cookies does LighterLine use and how do I change my preferences?
▼
Desk: Privacy & Cookies

We respect reader privacy. By default, only essential functional cookies are used. You can customize analytics and marketing preferences at any time by clicking the Cookie Access floating badge at the bottom-right corner of any page.

07 Do the utilities on the Tools page transmit code to your servers?
▼
Desk: Developer Utilities

No. All utilities in our Tools suite run 100% locally in your web browser. No code, tokens, regex strings, or JSON payloads ever leave your device.

08 How can I send a news tip, suggestion, or pitch?
▼
